Mank and Reid: Character Design

In developing "Mank and Reid," it was vital to establish the look of both of these characters and how they interact with each other. The two characters are inspired by two of my friend in real life, and their personalities and appearances were exaggerated and caricatured to create two charismatic leads. I knew I wanted the humor in the animatic to invoke a mix of "Smiling Friends" and "Looney Tunes", and so the designs were made to enable both fluid and quick movement and dynamism.
